Monterray County Office of Education

The MCOE Programs for Communication, Severe Disorders of Language and Autism Spectrum Disorders would like to thank Mr. Barnett Davis II, Director of The Life Foundation, for a generous donation of $25,000 specifically allocated to Staff Development for Instructional Assistants working in the SDL/ASD programs. These funds will allow us to provide important training in behavior management, language development and social skills training which will be our focus for this next year. We are thrilled to be able to provide more intensive training for our Instructional Assistants!

Life funded and facilitated the creation of MCOE programs, including, without limitation, a $25,000 grant to train special education teachers to optimize the delivery of service to children with autism throughout the County. Life also provided space for special education at well below market rates at the Life Foundation building when it was needed.

kinship center

More than 50,000 children in California are waiting for a safe home and a loving family that will be there for life. Kinship Center builds adoptive and other families where children can heal from past abuse or neglect and grow to healthy adulthood. The Kinship CenterĀ  helps 2,500 children each year, mostly those whom many others consider too difficult: severely traumatized children, older teenagers, children with disabilities, large sibling groups, and drug affected infants.
